Boulder World Cup Meiringen: The international climbing elite is from the 5. to 6. April visiting Switzerland

From the 5. to 6. April is the fourth time that time again: In the converted tennis hall in Meiringen, the best boulderers in the world compete for the international season start. Live stream of the semi-finals and finals below.

Not only does the competition for the World Cup season 2019 in bouldering kick off with the competition in Haslital, but it also starts the hunt for World Cup points in the three disciplines (speed, bouldering, lead). In November, with the additional event in Toulouse, another chance to qualify for Tokyo 2020 awaits the best athletes of the World Cup.

In Meiringen will show who is after the winter training where. It is clear that the pressure for the upcoming season, which is about the qualification for Tokyo 2020, is very high.

The international participant field in Meiringen presents itself correspondingly strong with numerous boulder specialists and the best all-rounders.

At the first bouldering World Cup of the coming season, numerous big names are taking place. Petra Klingler, the Swiss Boulder World Champion 2016, the reigning Boulder World Champions Janja Garbret and Kai Harada, the lead world champions Jakob Schubert and Jessica Pilz, climbing star Alex Megos - they all start in Meiringen for the start of the season. Even the exceptional climber Adam Ondra will compete in Meiringen. "We are very happy about the commitment of the exceptional athlete. What he has achieved in rock climbing and competition climbing with his 26 years is simply unbelievable, "says OK President Christian Willi.

Swiss athletes

The Swiss team travels to the Bernese Oberland with eight ladies and nine men. The Swiss team is led by Petra Klingler, who won 2016 the Boulder World Champion title in Paris and just barely climbed past the podium in Meiringen last year.
