Thilo Schröter commits Spray of Light and Simba in one day

The Norwegian boulderer Thilo Schröter experienced a high-altitude flight a few days ago: he was able to climb the 8c Boulder Spray of Light, He took advantage of the flow and opened with Simba on the same day a new Boulder, which he rated 8a / +.

"Oh my God, what a day !! Best climbing day of my life “, writes Thilo euphoric over yesterday's Sunday 8. July 2018. The exuberant words have two reasons. Thilo succeeded for the first time in the crossing of an 8c-Boulder (Spray of Light). The Boulder in the South African Rocklands was born in July three years ago by the Americans Daniel Woods first ascents. The line is the left exit variant of the Rockland classic Ray of Light (8b).

After the 8c ascent, Thilo felt - rightly - in top form and immediately went on a pilgrimage to an old project. This is historic with Spray of Light connected. Was two years ago Thilo namely ever in the Rocklands and extended his climbing holiday to Spray of Light to climb. On the first day, Thilo took a nasty cut. So there was nothing left for him but through the plains of the Rocklands to strip and search for a new, unbroken line. He found what he was looking for at the block where he now lines up Simba could go first.
