Stefano Ghisolfi's path to the hardest sport climbing route in Italy | Video

A year ago, Stefano Ghisolfi achieved his hardest first ascent to date and the most difficult sport climbing route in Italy with Excalibur (9b+). Now the video is finally here, which documents the path of the top Italian climber to the first ascent of his mega project in Arco.

At the beginning it was as Excalibur still considered a possible 9c route. In the end it was a 9b+ – but what a grade. Some of the strongest climbers in the world, Adam Ondra, Jakob Schubert and Will Bosi, have paid their respects to the route. Nobody has been able to repeat it yet.

The closest person to the climb so far was the strong Scot Will Bosi. Others like Adam Ondra had already made it through before the first ascent Stefano Ghisolfi himself taken out of the race. The risk of injury on the tiny handles was too great for the strong Czech.
