Andreas Lindner from DAV Expedkader member died in a fatal accident

On June 29, Andreas Lindner, a member of the DAV expedition squad, had a fatal accident.

The 21-year-old young mountain climber from Lenggries died last Monday in the Mont Blanc massif when approaching the Dru west face. It slipped in the Schrofen area below the actual climbing wall and fell about 100 meters deep.

His companion, also a member of the DAV expedition squad, immediately made an emergency call. The rescue team could only determine the death of the young Upper Bavaria. Rope-free walking is common in the Schrofen area at the scene of the accident. The two climbers were traveling privately.

Dr. Wolfgang Wabel from the German Alpine Club

The DAV expedition squad is a funding program of the German Alpine Club. Within three years, young mountain climbers learn everything important for large alpine activities through regular training measures.

The current men's expedition squad has been around for a year, the alpinists for the new women's squad will be selected at a viewing camp in autumn. There is information about the exped squad here.
