How is Sierra Blair-Coyle doing offwidth climbing?

What happens when a competitive climber starts an offwidth route? Tom Randall and Mary Eden asked themselves this question and accompanied Sierra Blair-Coyle to the rock. The following video was created.

Crack climbing is a discipline all of its own. Especially here in Europe we are used to climbing on ledges, slopers or sintered columns. Cracks are rare. But anyone who has ever been to the Furka area or near Chamonix knows that you can suddenly fly out on a simply rated route with a pump of the century. The reason for the failure is usually the lack of technology

Within crack climbing there is another, almost separate, discipline: offwidth climbing. An offwidth crack is a crack structure too wide to jam the fist but narrower than a chimney. Climbing is often brutal, painful and requires full physical effort.

In the following video, the competitive climber Sierra Blair-Coyle takes on the challenge of "offwidth climbing" with the support of the crack climbing professionals Tom randall and Mary Eden.
