The Lungern climbing garden is open again

The popular Lungern climbing garden in central Switzerland is open again. After it was closed indefinitely in mid-2023 due to work on the rock, the parties involved have reached a constructive agreement. Climbing is permitted again until the next construction phase.

Positive news from Central Switzerland: Climbing is allowed again – the closure of the climbing garden Lounging is suspended until the next construction phase. As soon as construction begins again, we will inform you again. Climbing will be possible again once the entire construction project has been completed.

Important information about the Lungern climbing garden:

  • At the end of the construction project, the earth movements will be adjusted to the original terrain as far as possible.
  • The routes are partly blocked by the excavation a little longer – definitely knot in the Make the end of the rope!!!
  • The ground on the left routes is slightly raised, so the original lines cannot be climbed at the moment.
  • If you fancy a coffee or a beer, we recommend the Cantina Caverna restaurant in Brünig Indoor.

How the climbing community is perceived depends on all of us. We therefore ask you…

  • …to park in the designated parking spaces.
  • …take your own and other people’s waste with you and dispose of it properly.
  • ...if possible, avoid going to the toilet in the forest. If no other option is available, bury the feces and take toilet paper with you (→Robidog).
  • …to avoid music and other noise on the rock.
  • …not to start a fire.
  • …not to climb at night (with a headlamp or other light sources).

We thank you for your participation!

Special thanks go to the Teilsamen and the municipality of Lungern as well as the Gasser company. Without the generous consent of the parties, climbing on the great rocks would not have been possible - thank you very much!

Have fun climbing 🙂
