At the beginning of November, during a flying visit to Switzerland, Adam Ondra climbed an old project by Stephan Siegrist and gave the Helvetians a new 9a+ route. The fact that he's naming his new tour Chicken Nose doesn't sound particularly exciting at first, but it has a pretty funny background.
Around 12 years ago, the Swiss professional climber Stephan Siegrist He drilled a route on the Isenfluh that was so difficult that he was never able to climb it himself. So he loaded Adam Ondra one to try them. After a session in the spring with team colleague Jakob Schubert, he managed the first ascent at the beginning of November.
The route name chosen by Adam Ondra Chicken Nose has a special background: On the one hand, there is a toy chicken hanging in the roof of the 9a+ route, which Stephan Siegrist had put there while drilling. On the other hand, Stephan Siegrist secured himself during the climb with a freshly operated nose, which Adam accidentally hit him on while moving.
