Weightless – Music meets mountaineering spirit

On January 31, 2026, a meeting will take place in the Cantate Hall of the Volksbühne Frankfurt that is rarely experienced on a stage: The Frankfurt duo formation THE OHOHOHs, known for their musical mix of classical and club culture, will play together with the extreme climber and pianist Alexander Huber.

When a global icon of alpinism meets two locally rooted sound researchers, a tension arises that transcends the traditional concert format. The result is "Weightless." Fans of extreme climber Alexander Huber can look forward to seeing what it's like when he unites his two worlds on stage: the mountains and the piano.

When music reaches heights

Florian Wäldele and Florian Dreßler, also known as the OHOHOH duo, have shared two passions for years: music and climbing. Their artistic drive is exploring boundaries – spatial, sonic, and emotional. For »Weightless«, they bring together Alexander Huber A partner by your side who lives this lifestyle with radical consistency. As part of the legendary Huber boy He shaped modern alpinism like almost no other – and at the same time surprises as a sensitive pianist who also becomes a musical part of the evening's performance. In his book *Fear, Your Best Friend*, he describes how to draw courage from uncertainty – a theme that also forms a central dramatic arc of this concert evening.

Sound, images, stories – a journey into the vertical

Huber recounts expeditions, stories of fear, courage, failure, and humility, accompanied by images and music that underscore these experiences. Together with THE OHOHOHs, he performs two specially arranged pieces live on the piano. In this way, sound, stories, and visual impressions intertwine to create a dramatically rich journey vertically – through the highs and lows of a life.
Wäldele and Dreßler have been pushing genre boundaries for years: club music somewhere between Beethoven and beat. Their explosive mix of classical, techno, minimal, and improvisation has taken them from fusion music to the ARD morning show, from club stages to sacred spaces. "Weightless" combines music, a spirit of adventure, and personal stories into an intense experience.
