The French mountain guides Benjamin Védrines, Nicolas Jean and Julien Cruvellier de Luze are opening a new route through the previously untouched "La Gorge" on the south face of the Barre des Écrins, the southernmost 4000m peak in the Alps: De l'Or en Barre (1000m, M7 , A1, 5+, ED+).

German professional climber Yannick Flohé opens a new difficult line on the Dreamtime block in Cresciano. The first ascent called Return of the Dreamtime rated Flohé with 8C +.

In July, Seb Bouin climbed the ultimate endurance test piece with Nordic Marathon (130m, 9b/+) in Flatanger. The monster route stretches 130 meters through the gigantic roof and connects Nordic Plumber (8c) with the second pitch of Thor's Hammer (9a/+) and the direct headwall of Hanhelleren Cave. Budding mountain guide Juho Knuutila is known for his daring ascents in the demanding ice and mixed terrain of the far north. In December he climbed Rånkeipen with Alexander Nordvall Arctic Circus (M6, WI6). A few days ago he returned to the wall near Narvik early in the morning to climb another wild mixed line before work - single-handedly.

The DWS Mecca Mallorca has one more Psicobloc spot thanks to the Swiss climbers Philipp Geisenhoff, Marco Müller, Benjamin Weber, Benjamin Schelker and Flo Weber. At Cala Magrana they found a virgin rock ledge and opened six new routes there, including Poseidon's Kiss (8c).

Yesterday Adam Ondra made the first ascent of Zvěřinec (9b +) in the Moravian Karst climbing area in the Czech Republic. According to his own statements, it is the most difficult route of his life after Silence (9c) - and that means something.
