Shauna Coxsey's amazing bouldering year 2024

In 2024, new mother Shauna Coxsey climbed three 8B+ boulders. The film First Mama Ascent not only shows her impressive ascents, but also how the professional athlete balances climbing and motherhood.

Shauna Coxsey has been the poster girl for British climbing for over a decade, winning multiple IFSC World Cup titles and representing the British team at the Tokyo Olympics. In 2021 she turned her back on the competition circus and from then on focused on projects on rock.

2024 was an extremely successful year for the new mother. With Hazel Grace at the Gotthard Pass, The Boss in Yarncliffe and Fotofobia in La Pedriza she bouldered three 8B+ lines.

The film First Mama Ascent shows how Shauna Coxsey, with her daughter Frankie by her side, pushes her physical limits, overcomes her fears and redefines what it means to be successful as both an athlete and a mother.
