Volker Schöffl in Laos: Between medical and athletic challenges

The filmmaker Killi O'Reilly has made an impressive and moving documentary about Volker Schöffl and his wife Isabelle. It shows the two Germans during their work assignment in Laos as well as setting up new climbing routes.

The German specialist in trauma surgery and team doctor for the German national sport climbing team traveled to Laos for the first time in 2002 for a medical assignment. Since then he has been working regularly as a trauma surgeon in the Southeast Asian country - and opening up new sport climbing routes on the side.

The film by Killi O'Reilly is impressive, moving and technically excellent. But be careful, the film is not for the faint of heart.
