Hansjörg Auer climbs three peaks in the Dolomites free solo

Austrian alpinist Hansjörg Auer climbs 3 summit in the Dolomites on one day free solo. With a light paraglider he laid the path between the routes Vinatzer / Messner (800m / UIAA 6 +), Abramkante (500m / UIAA 7-) and Great Wall (300m / UIAA 7-) back.

At least since the free solo on the classic Dolomites route The path through the fish (37 SL, 7b +) one knows the name Hansjörg Auer. Last summer, Hans Solo went one better and made his long-cherished dream come true. He climbs three peaks in the Dolomites in one day, free solo.

Matthew Maddison, the former speed climbing coach of USA Climbing, has been sentenced to up to 15 years in prison in the US state of Utah. The 37-year-old pleaded guilty as part of an agreement with prosecutors to possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material online. USA Climbing had already suspended the British-born Maddison from his duties following his arrest in the spring.

Since the fatal climbing accident on Kalymnos in the spring, route refurbishment on the Greek island has accelerated. According to the local initiative Rebolt Kalymnos, 383 routes have been completely re-equipped – with titanium instead of stainless steel.
