It's almost time: From June 16th to 19th, Petzl invites you to the largest German-speaking climbing festival in Franconian Switzerland. The program includes music, parties, athletes' presentations, workshops and of course lots of climbing meters in Germany's largest climbing area.
highlights of Frankenjura Climbing Festival are certainly the workshops and lectures with and by world-famous climbers. The participants can experience the stars of the scene up close and take one or the other tip home with them.
Frankenjura Climbing Festival: workshops, lectures, concerts
The Frankenjura Climbing Festival is peppered with exciting workshops. The offer ranges from the Trad Climbing Masterclass Sean Villanueva about the mindset change Melanie Michalski through to technical training with the German champion Martina Demmel. A total of four days 27 workshops to choose from. Since the number of participants is limited, it is worth registering early.
In addition, from Thursday to Saturday there are various Talks instead, for example with Matilda Söderlund, Melissa le Neve, Robert Leistner or Volker Schöffl. The lectures are held on the stage or on the lawn in the Königstein natural pool. Accordingly, there is no need to worry about a lack of space.
On Saturday evening, the live band Jamaram and Jahcoustix will create a great atmosphere with their mix of reggae, funk and Latin. Afterwards, DJ De La Roque extended the party with his set ranging from deep house to vocal house to disco house.
Celebrate and climb together
The venue of the Frankenjura Climbing Festival is the outdoor pool in the Upper Palatinate town of Königstein, where visitors can stay overnight with tents and camping buses. "Climbing is more than a sport, it's a very specific way of life," explains Christoph Driever, Country Manager of Petzl Germany. "After a two-year break, we are very happy to be able to pursue this great passion together with climbers from all over Europe over these four days," says Driever.
Participation in the four-day festival is free of charge. However, if you would like to attend one of the lectures or workshops or stay overnight in the outdoor pool area, you are asked to pay a contribution towards expenses.
