Charles Albert climbs Monkey Wedding (8c) barefoot

Charles Albert gets once again an ultra-heavy ascent without climbing finches. A few days ago, Charles, often called Barefoot Charles or Mowgli, announced the commission of Monkey Wedding (8c) in the Rocklands, South Africa.

When we write above that Charles has climbed "once again" without climbing finches, it sounds as if he is also doing gymnastics on blocks with climbing finches from time to time. But he doesn't. His credo: It's better without climbing finches. The Mowgli from France regularly proves that this is the case. LACRUX reported several times about his inspections.

First ascent of Monkey Wedding by Fred Nicole

Monkey Wedding first appeared in the year 2002 by Fred Nicole and was originally rated 8b +. The first iteration did not happen until eight years later, when Paul Robinson made it through 2010 in August. Paul upgraded the Boulder and gave him 8c. This degree was no longer questioned by the other climbers. Was celebrated Monkey Wedding Adam Ondra, Daniel Woods, Nacho Sánchez, and last July 2016 from the Finn Nalle Hukkataival and the Russian Vadim Timonov.
