Will Bosi climbs Sleepwalker in a hurry and downgrades to 8C

The strong Scot Will Bosi makes short work of Sleepwalker (8C+) in the Red Rocks. Within a few sessions he managed to get through Jimmy Webb’s Testpiece. Bosi proposes a downgrade to 8C and is now tackling the 9A-rated sit-start version, Return of the Sleepwalker.

Will Bosi's Inspection of Sleepwalker was a success with announcement. Already after the first session he announced that he had all the moves together and was able to climb the boulder in two stages. On the second day it was said: “A crazy day with huge progress. Not only was I able to climb the first part, but I was also able to hold the sloper and it felt like I was climbing through.” On the third day the time had come.

The first go on the third day was successful. I am overjoyed that I was able to climb this incredible boulder. On to the seat start.

Bosi: Sleepwalker is not an 8C+

In parallel with his quick climb, Will Bosi also shared a first brief assessment of the difficulty: Personally, he doesn't think Sleepwalker is 8C+. “That’s why I suggest 8C for this boulder.” He shares the assessment of the young American Zander Waller, who climbed Sleepwalker last October and also downgraded it.

However, most climbers who have been able to repeat the boulder in the Red Rocks so far confirmed the difficulty level 8C+, including Daniel Woods, Nalle Hukkataival, Drew Ruana and Ryuichi Murai. In this respect, it will be exciting to find out more about Will Bosi’s assessment.

Next Stop: Return of the Sleepwalker

As announced, the 25-year-old will now dedicate himself to the even more difficult sit-start version of the boulder: Return of the Sleepwalker, the first 9A boulder in the United States. His chances are pretty good after this sensational take-off.

In addition, Will Bosi is not only extremely strong, but also seems to have found a good mix of vehemence and calmness when projecting. You don't see many climbers laughing like Bosi after a failed move.
