This week, the finale of the 2025 Bouldering World Cup season will take place in Innsbruck. At the same time, athletes will compete in lead and paraclimbing.

Janja Garnbret & Alex Megos back in the World Cup

For the first time this season we will be in Innsbruck Janja Garnbret on the mat and on the rope. The Slovenian will be competing in Innsbruck after a long break from competition following the Olympic Games in both bouldering and lead. Further highlights in her season include her home lead World Cup in Copper and World Championships in Seoul in September.

Innsbruck not only concludes the bouldering season, but also continues the lead season. This week, in addition to Janja Garnbret, Alex Megos his season debut – but only in the lead. With Chamonix, Madrid and Copper There are three more lead events coming up this year.

Overall bouldering ranking: Who will win the 2025 season?

For men, Sorato Anraku as the season favorite: The Japanese is currently in the overall ranking with 5.185 points, ahead of Korea's Dohyun Lee (4.560) and Sohta Amagasa (4.095). Nevertheless, a comeback is possible, which is why things will remain exciting in Innsbruck until the very end.

In the women’s category, the American Annie Sanders currently with 4.485 points, followed by Oriane Bertone (4.025) and the Japanese Mao Nakamura (3.870). Athletes receive points for their respective placements in descending order. First place is awarded 1.000 points, second 805, and third 690 – followed by further placements up to 80th place (1 point).

Paraclimbing represented again in Innsbruck

Today and Tuesday, the qualification and finals for paraclimbing will also take place in Innsbruck. More than 100 international athletes will participate in the second of three Paraclimbing World Cups of the season. The next and final stop is in Laval in October.
