Clément Lechaptois: The Understanding (8c) dream boulder climbed

The French Clément Lechaptois recently successfully climbed the 8c boulder The Understanding in Magic Wood, Switzerland.

The Boulder The Understanding makes Clément rave. The gigantic block with its artistic structures is located in the middle of the enchanted forest of the municipality ferrera.

The Understanding is without a doubt one of the craziest bouldering lines out there. A real masterpiece.

Clement has tried the boulder a few times before, but was never able to hold the dynamic pull - until October of this year. Since then, the Frenchman began to seriously try the line from the start.

Unexpectedly good conditions

Actually, like everyone else, Clément Lechaptois expected the 2020 season to be over. But the unusually high temperatures and the stable weather in November again led to perfect conditions in the forest.

And so Clément was back immediately Magic Wood - with success. He got into the line, successfully completed the dynamo position and then fought his way to the top of the boulder.

The Understanding (8c) was created by a Finnish professional climber Nalle Hukkataival First climbed in June 2013 and has long been considered one of the toughest boulders in the world.
