Brooke Raboutou wins the first Olympic Games qualifier event. In Shanghai she is at the top of the podium ahead of Chaehyun Seo and Erin McNeice.

Am Olympic Qualifier Event in Shanghai have the American Brooke Raboutou (Gold), the Korean woman Chaehyun Seo (Silver) and the British Erin McNeice (Bronze) placed in pole position for the remaining Paris 2024 Olympic tickets.

Brooke Raboutou left no doubt in Shanghai that she is one of the top contenders for an Olympic ticket. From qualifying to the final, she finished second or best in every round. In the end, her strong performance in bouldering and a 37+ in the lead were enough for her to win.

The lead specialist Chaehyun Seo excelled in her top discipline right from the start. The Korean had more trouble in bouldering given the strong competition, especially in the qualification. After 25th place, things steadily went up: 8th place in the semi-finals and 7th place in the final. This, together with the victory in the lead, was enough for second place in the overall standings.

The 20-year-old Brit Erin McNeice confidently survived the qualifying round in 7th place and also withstood the pressure in the semi-finals. She made it to the final in 8th place. There she turned up the heat and took second place in bouldering and lead.

The Japanese Miho Nonaka missed the podium at the Olympic Qualifier Series in Shanghai, just 0,1 points behind. Behind her in 5th place, her teammate Futaba Ito finished the qualifying event.

The Ukrainian Ievgeniia Kazbekova, the Chinese Zhilu Luo and the French Zélia Avezou secured places six to eight.
