Switzerland and Austria award national titles

At the weekend, the climbing associations in Switzerland and Austria chose their national champions. Sascha Lehmann and Zoé Egli are the new Swiss champions in lead climbing. In Innsbruck, Jessica Pilz and Georg Parma won the overall Bouldering and Lead rankings.

In two climbing nations went at the weekend national championships across the stage. in the Evolution Climbing Center the best lead climbers from Switzerland competed in Ticino. in the Climbing Center Innsbruck Austria Climbing identified the best athletes in the disciplines of bouldering, speed and lead.

Zoé Egli and Sascha Lehmann win gold

With the only top in the final, he won the Swiss championships in lead climbing Sascha Lehmann in Jonas Utelli and Dimitri Vogt. Only one athlete made it to the top among the women: Zoé Egli. Silver and bronze won Michelle Hulliger and Liv Egli.

Jessica Pilz and Georg Parma win lead titles

In the last few days, the Austrian Climbing State Championship titles in bouldering, speed and lead climbing have been awarded in the Innsbruck climbing center. The grand finale took place on Saturday evening with the last decision in the lead climb, which at the same time ensured a worthy conclusion to three intensive climbing days.

Defended for the women Jessica mushroom successfully her title from the previous year and secured her 8th national lead success in a row. The men could George Parma happy about his 2nd title after an excellent performance. The Bouldering & Lead overall ranking goes to Pilz and Parma, who took first place with Nicolai Uznik was allowed to share.

A woman for all cases

After her gala performance in the bouldering final and the associated Austrian state championship title, Jessica Pilz was also unstoppable in the lead. The Olympic participant was once again the measure of all things, secured her 8th lead state championship title in a row and, after 2015, 2018 and 2019, won the coveted double in the national title fights for the 4th time.

2nd place went to Eva Maria Hammelmuller, who bravely fought her way up the route in freezing temperatures (47,5). The duel for third place was a heart-stopping final: 3 athletes reached 3+. In the end got himself Mattea Potzi Bronze medal due to faster time.

Title number 2 with a gap of 7 years

In the absence of Olympic bronze medalists Jakob Schubert the way was clear for a new winning face in 2022. Georg Parma knew how to use his chance, played his whole class despite a moment of shock, prevailed against his seven opponents in the final and celebrated his 2nd title at the Austrian State Championships (43+).

2nd place got himself Mathias Posch, who fought a great fight until the end and had to admit defeat by two moves in the end. After bouldering gold, Nicolai Uznik finally took bronze in the lead and stayed one move ahead of his brother Timo.
