Adam Ondra has once again unearthed an ancient project in one of his home areas. This time it's the slabby, mossy, and considered impossible route Cert Vi in the Chriby climbing area.
Chriby, with its hilly landscape and characteristic sandstone formations, is a beautiful area and offers numerous beautiful routes and boulders. During his childhood and youth, Ondra nailed almost all of the difficult lines—almost. He still had an old, moss-covered project open, which, at first glance, isn't exactly a gem.
I often visited this climbing area with my parents and climbed almost all of the difficult routes. But this line, which Michael Rozek told me about 15 years ago, was still in the back of my mind.

Cert Vi is too high to be climbed as a highball and at the same time very short for a sport climb. If the line were a boulder, it would be a world-class problem, explains Ondra. But because it lies between the two extremes, the line is rather odd. With its wobbly slab section and a nasty mono, it was still reason enough for Ondra to claim the first free ascent.
