Chaehyun Seo ends her trip to Spain with an onsight ascent of Fish Eye (8c). For the 21-year-old South Korean, this is already the second difficult route she has climbed in this style after L'Antagonista (8c).

What a consolation
The strong South Korean had actually traveled to Oliana to score Chris Sharma's test piece Papichulo (9a+). While Chaehyun Seo was denied success in her main project, she surprised herself with the onsight ascent of Fish Eye (8c). This was anything but planned.
"When we walked up the wall on the last day of our trip, it was so foggy that we couldn't see anything above us," says the successful competition climber. They had already considered giving up climbing and leaving.
But instead of giving up, the 21-year-old climbed the 8c route Fish Eye more for fun. To her own surprise, she made it to the belay without falling, thus securing her second onsight ascent at difficulty level 8c.
Popular route for onsight attempts
Fish Eye (8c) is one of the most popular routes in Oliana. The 50-meter route is regularly chosen for onsight attempts due to its sustained nature. Successful ascents in this style have included Klemen Beฤan, Stefano Ghisolfi, Janja Garnbret or Taisei Homma.
