David Fitzgerald paid a visit to Ticino

David Fitzgerald shortened his stay in the Maltatal in November of last year due to the bad weather and drove to the Sonnenstube of Switzerland. In Ticino, he received several hard ascents, which were recorded to our delight in a video.

David Fitzgerald's journey to Austria and Switzerland began in early November. In Austria his biggest goal was the celebration of the classic bouldering iron in the Maltatal. Unfortunately, David only needed four correct attempts from the bottom, three of which ended in front of the edge. For more, neither the skin nor the strength was enough. Then came the bad weather and thus the forced rest days. Unfortunately, the weather was not on the side of David in the next few days, which is why he decided to continue to the Sonnenstube in Switzerland, Ticino. In the Maltatal, after all, the two boulders get him Pluto on the hunt (8a +), Orgasmotron (8a) as well Wrestling with an alligator (8b).

Servus Austria, ciao Svizzera

“What a great first day climbing in Chironico! This place reminds me so much of home. The rock here is some of the best I've ever climbed on ", David enthuses about the bouldering area (More about the brand new Chironico Bouldering Guide). If you take a look at the ticklist of the young Irishman it becomes clear why he is so happy. He gets the red dot of the Fred Nicole classic I Portici (8a +), climbed Freak Brothers (8a) and Boogalagga (8b) and concludes the day Confessions of a Crap Artist (7c).

Continue in the Boulder area Brione

On the fourth day in Ticino, David actually wanted to take a day off. Obviously that was too difficult for him, because he says: "It would be strange to walk through these areas without climbing just a little." We fully understand this, but are still impressed by the boulder David Fitzgerald climbs briefly on his day off : Komilator (7c) in Chironico and La Pelle Left (8a). On his last day he put the icing on his trip with the ascent of three 8a's. Like on vacation (8a) and Fake Pamplemoose (8a) David climbed both in the second attempt and takes Real Pamplemoose (8a) also home. But now enough written, the following video shows a selection of the inspections.
