He hasn't yelled like that for a long time: Ondra video by Zvěřinec (9b +, hard)

In November 2021, Adam Ondra made the first ascent of one of the most difficult routes in the world: Zvěřinec (9b +). In this recently published video, Ondra shows the inspection process. First of all: He had to make a lot of effort.

Adam Ondra laid the basis for the Zvěřinec route in 2011 when he was given the first ascent of the route Perlorodka succeeded. His most recent first ascent, the route Zvěřinec, shares the crux of Perlorodka, but has a different start, which is already rated 9a+.

Adam Ondra Zvěřinec (9b+) planned together with Will Bosi last spring - without success. In the summer months he didn't do it at all, the conditions were simply too bad. Then in November 2022 he started again with sessions in the route.

But success did not come as quickly as hoped. Again and again Adam Ondra had to go home without having achieved anything. Adam Ondra only clipped the deflector of the Zvěřinec (20b+) route on November 2022, 9, which he describes as the second hardest route of his career. The following video shows the story of the first ascent - and how Adam once again really roars up a route.

"Zvěřinec (9b +) is definitely the second hardest route of my life after Silence (9c)."
