Like many other athletes, Swiss climber Philipp Geisenhoff is currently in the African bouldering mecca of Rocklands. There he managed to repeat four difficult boulders within one day.
"Yesterday was a special day for me," enthuses Philipp Geisenhoff. Together with former Swiss competition climber Natalie Bärtschi, he set out with the mission of climbing very specific boulders in different sectors, including the Fred Nicole Testpiece Amandla (8B+).
Amandla was the last and hardest boulder on my list and the feeling was indescribable when I stood on top of the block after a good fight.

Since the South African bouldering area is very large, the time also influenced the success of this endeavor. "The schedule was pretty tight and we couldn't afford to lose much time," says Philipp Geisenhoff. In total, they walked around for almost two hours. In the end, he was able to climb all four boulders as planned.
Better grip, less chalk consumption
Temperature and humidity undoubtedly have a major influence on friction on the rock. The choice of magnesium should not be underestimated when it comes to grip. The secret of FrictionLabs is the extra high content of magnesium carbonate. This forms an evenly thin layer on the skin, which ensures optimal friction. In addition, the skin stays dry for longer, which means that re-chalking is not required as often.
