Anak Verhoeven climbed the route a few days ago Ciudad de dios (9a / +) in Santa Linya. For Anak it is already the fourth 9-way route - on the French difficulty scale, of course.
Three months ago, the Belgian Anak Verhoeven succeeded Sweet Neuf as the first woman the first ascent of a 9a + route. In front of her, Margo Hayes climbed a 9a + red point - namely La Rambla in Siurana. The small but subtle difference lies in the fact that Anak's 9a + is one Erstinspection acted. But now, no more "title flogging". The fact is, Anak is pretty damn fit. In the past few days she not only succeeded in ascent of Ciudad de dios (9a / +), but also on the same day La Fabela (8c +). Cold wave in Spain
When you think of Siurana, Margalef and Oliana, you think of sun and shorts. According to Anak, the reality looks different: “The reality is that most of the time it's cold and icy! When the sun hits the Santa Linya cave though, the climbers can take off their down jackets, gloves and beanies and start climbing.
