Shortly before the IFSC qualification event in Laval, France, Adam Ondra underwent a form check in Slovenia and passed it with flying colors: He managed a flash ascent of Jernej Kruder's route Peščena Ura (9a).
Adam Ondra is THE MAN when it comes to tough onsight and flash ascents. He demonstrated this once again in Sopota, Slovenia. In Jernej Kruder's home area he manages a flash ascent of the 9a route Peščena Ura.
Form test passed, missed Olympic qualification
It was supposed to be a form test in the Ondra style. Shortly before the important competition in Laval, the strong Czech tried two routes from Jernej Kruder and Jakob Bizjak in Slovenia. The onsight inspection of the 9a line “in time” was thwarted by a huge dynamo.
When trying to flash Peščena Ura (9a), on the other hand, everything worked together. After Jernej Kruder showed him the beta, Adam Ondra climbed to the diverter. Despite this successful form test, Ondra failed to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris at the competition in Laval.
