Competitive climbing has a problem - Here's what the IFSC says about RED-S and eating disorders

For a long time, only the side of the IFSC critics was heard in the matter of RED-S and eating disorders in climbing. The association is finally speaking out.

The program is presented by Bächli Bergsport and Petzl

We have a long interview with Marco Scalaris guided. Are our athletes healthy? When are there binding rules? Will people who have RED-S and eating disorders be banned? We discuss these and other questions with the IFSC President.

In addition, we have with the sports doctor Dr. Volker Schöffl, with DAV trainer Sagi Damti, sports psychologist Maria Stefania Ionel, head of competitive sports at the SAC Urs Stoecker and talked to various athletes.

Wild Country Friends: life insurance on the rock

Wherever there are few or no fixed safeguards such as bolts or bolts, clamping devices are used, which are placed in cracks and crevices. The clamping force is based on the principle of the conical shape: the more tension there is on the clamping wedges, the tighter they are in the crack.

The new version of the original Friend cam from Wild Country has a double-axis design and an extendable sling. In the base, however, the friend remains untouched. The famous clamping angle of 13.75 degrees used worldwide is also unchanged in this version of the Friend.

The new Wild Country Friends have a double-axis design and an extendable sling and are available from Bächli Bergsport in sizes 0.4 (15.8-26.4 mm) to 3 (52.7-88 mm).
