Shawn Raboutou flashed the 2021b Boulder Specter at Buttermilks, USA at the end of 8. This video shows his impressive performance despite the chaotic circumstances.
Shawn Raboutou is undisputedly one of the strongest climbers in the world. He opened the first 8c + boulder in Switzerland and also climbs regularly on the rope in the ninth French degree. His latest coup is the flash ascent of an 8b boulder, i.e. the ascent of the boulder in the first attempt.
As the following video shows, a strong gust of wind swept away all the crash pads while Raboutou was climbing. The young American was undeterred and continued his attempt while his friends hastily collected the pads. Big cinema!
