Video: Sean Villanueva and Pete Whittaker in the unforgiving mountains of Patagonia

Last winter in Patagonia, a strong rope team attracted attention: crack specialist Pete Whittaker and Patagonia veteran Sean Villanueva. During their time together, the duo managed, among other things, to wring a first free ascent from two hard crack lines.

With Yacaré (550m, 7a+) and Anda pa'alla (500m, 8a) the duo could Whittaker/Villanueva climb two difficult crack lines completely free for the first time this winter. Your experiences in the gigantic granite walls Patagonia's have the two together with the photographer Julia Cassou captured in a must-see film. "It's an incredible place on the rock up there," enthuses Pete Whittaker, "but the mountains in Patagonia still scare me, so full concentration when climbing is the only option."
