Boulder-EM under the Olympic roof in Munich

In view of the enormous number of participants, the Swiss team will primarily focus on classifying themselves in the first third of the rankings and thus fulfilling the association's guidelines. Due to the results of the current year, a semi-final qualification in the World Cup and thus a climbing for a good European Championship placement is quite possible for the Swiss athletes.

Petra Klingler with good base for top result in combined score

At the beginning of July, the Lead and Speed European Championships were already held in Italy. Regarding the combination ranking the reigning Boulder world champion Petra Klingler (Bonstetten ZH) made a very good starting position with 7 in the lead and 4 in the speed among the women. With a top placing in bouldering, she will find herself in the lead in this category. "Just under a year after the World Cup title in Paris, Petra will be fully focused on entering her fifth World Cup final this season," said Kevin Hemund, national coach of Swiss Climbing. And he further explains: "All further results in the European Championship individual classification, the combination and in the overall World Cup will then arise. Another objective in this complex starting position is inappropriate. "

In addition to Klingler, there are three other athletes, Andrea Kümin (Winkel ZH), Jara Späte (Wolfhausen ZH) and Dimitri Vogt (Worben BE). The rest starts exclusively in bouldering.
