Tim Würthner climbs Casavino (8B+)

Tim Würthner secures a repeat of the Brione test piece Casavino. The Munich native had already attempted the 8B+ boulder at the beginning of the year. After targeted replica training, he returned to Ticino and walked the line in the first session.

As Giuliano Cameroni and Nalle Hukkataival 2018 Casavino (8B+) for the first time, they couldn't stop swarming. “This boulder deserves five stars.” The 21-year-old sees it similarly Tim Wuerthner, who was able to climb the aesthetic line in Brione recently.

Casavino probably offers the best sequence of movements I've done so far and I really like it.

At the beginning of the year, the German competitor was already in Brione and tried the Casavino boulder for the first time. Tim was immediately impressed by the line and sequence the boulder offers.

He describes Casavino as a real dream line for him. The boulder fully corresponds to his style: “The first five moves are athletic on good ledges, one of which most people do with a pogo move or as a hangler. Then you swing into a toehook and top off over a sloper band.”

With replica to success

After Tim Würthner was able to do all the moves in one session, he repeated them at home in order to prepare himself as best as possible. This obviously worked brilliantly. According to him, the difficult elements of the replica felt very similar to the real boulder. Ultimately, the boulder fell within the first session of his short trip.

Training on a replica at home has proven to be good preparation. I was surprised that I was able to climb the boulder in one session after only taking a quick look at the trains a few weeks ago.

Tim Würthner is now dedicating himself to training again in order to make the final preparations for the DAV selection competitions that are coming up soon.
