Natalie Bärtschi and Julien Clémence defend their titles | Swiss Championship Bouldering 2023

Successful title defense: Natalie Bärtschi and Julien Clémence crowned themselves Swiss champions in the bouldering discipline on Saturday evening, April 1, in the L'Entrepôt climbing hall in Bulle. Jil Couture and Romain Sabatier win the title in the U18 category.

Already led after the qualification Natalie Bärtschi thanks to five tops, the intermediate ranking ahead of the two sisters Zoe and Liv Egli at. In the final of the six best athletes, last year's winner Natalie Bärtschi was the only one who cracked two boulders and thus secured the championship title for the second time in a row. Climbed with a top and four zones Andrea Kümin in 2nd place. Liv Egli was third.

Rank 1 was the interim result for Julien Clémence after the qualification and he didn't let himself be taken away from this place in the final either. He topped three of the four final boulders and thus achieved the best result. Placed with two tops and three zones Sascha Lehmann in rank 2. Louis Guignard completed the podium in 3rd place.

U18: Jil Couture and Romain Sabatier prevail

Only one zone separated them in the final of the U18 women Jill Couture and Noé Looser. Both topped two boulders, whereby Jil Couture was also able to credit all four zones and thus became Swiss champion. With one zone less, Noé Looser celebrated the Vice Swiss Champion title. Indian summer rose to 3rd place.

In the final of the U18 men, most boulders were cracked with 18 tops. Four of them solved Romain Sabatier, who was the only athlete who was able to top all the qualifying and final boulders. Bouldered behind him Levin Strawhair in rank 2. David Torroni finished the competition in 3rd place.
