Video: Giuliano Cameroni climbs Hazel Grace sit (8c / 8c +)

In June 2021, the Ticino climber Giuliano Cameroni succeeded in the first ascent of the Hazel Grace boulder on the Gotthard Pass in the seated start version after countless attempts. This video shows the story behind the ascent.

It was one of the longest running projects by Giuliano Cameroni. He invested around 40 days in the entire line. While he started the standing start after around six attempts, the sitting start version of the boulder turned out to be Gotthard pass almost a nightmare.

What a great moment when everything comes together. How awesome that I was now able to climb the third line, which I designed the most in recent years.

He kept changing the beta, working on new solutions, going back to an old beta. The following video tells the long journey from the first ascent of the standing start version to the completion of the line in the form of the seated start version.
