Aidan Roberts announces the first ascent of a new boulder in Brione, Ticino. He rates the new line The Lions Share with 8C+.
No boulder trip leaves Aidan Roberts out to avoid opening a new hard line. These include boulders like Everything the Light Touches (8C), a variant of the famous boulder The Kingdom (8B+/C). In autumn he managed the first ascent of the sit start version (8C+) of the Brione classic Vecchio Leone. The "normal version" of Vecchio Leone, you may remember, flashed Roberts away without further ado.
Now the young Brit announces another extremely difficult first ascent in the same sector, The Lions Share.
Slow tension movements on terrible ledges, sloper passages and a slab passage, the new boulder The Lions Share combines different climbing styles into a new test piece with a difficulty level of 8C+.
