Summit dispute broke out in the Alps: 150 billboards installed

A summit dispute has broken out in the Graubünden mountains. A Swiss bank has installed billboards on 150 peaks - the nature conservation organization Mountain Wilderness is declaring war on the campaign. We spoke to both sides.

On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, the Bündner Kantonalbank has put up boards with QR codes on just as many peaks in Graubünden. As the first electronic summit book, where summit aspirants can immortalize themselves with selfies, the campaign was touted as a sustainable awareness of nature.

Mountain Wilderness is bothered by the installations and thinks that the mountains should remain a place of retreat free from advertising and unnecessary installations.

The organization Mountain Wilderness sees it differently. She is bothered by the installations, believes that the mountains should remain a place of retreat free from advertising and unnecessary installations. But although the anniversary year is drawing to a close, the bank wants to leave the blackboards behind. They should remain in place until 2023 for the time being.

Is it a non-profit or annoying advertisement? We discuss the advertising campaign in the latest BETA program on Actiontalk TV and talk to Tim Marklowski, Mountain Wilderness Project Manager, and Martin Rust, Sustainability Officer at Bündner Kantonalbank.
